Two dogs, looking for a loving home after the death of their owner—heart-string-tugging enough to get you to the animal shelter? What if we told you that pugs Harry and Sally ate their owner after he committed suicide? Yep, that’s the sales job facing the Humane Society in Papillion, Neb. The dogs, hungry and abandoned, were just going on instinct, a rep tells Fox News.

“That isn’t a reflection on them being a bad dog, being an aggressive dog, being a vicious dog, it’s simply what dogs do,” Pam Wiese says. “They have no food aggression. They have no aggression toward people. They don’t have aggression toward other dogs.” And none of the long-term psychological scarring one might find in humans, so c’mon, whaddaya say?
