Iran Convicts Reuters Chief in 'Ninja' Row

A special Tehran "media court" has found a Reuters bureau chief guilty of "spreading lies" in a "ninja" video. The film initially included a headline, soon changed, that said female martial arts experts were training to be assassins. They were apparently ninjas, but not assassins. Operations at the Reuters Tehran bureau were suspended following the video, and the staff shifted to Dubai. But bureau chief Parisa Hafezi, an Iranian national, was not allowed to leave. "We understand that the jury has stated its view and we now await the court's ruling," a Reuters spokeswoman tells AP. A sentence is expected to be issued this week. (More Iran stories.)
