Great Britain’s Health Protection Agency has launched a two-year comprehensive study into the health risks of wireless Internet connections, responding to rising fears from advocates and educators – but they don’t expect to find anything. There’s no evidence suggesting health risks, the Agency says, and it's likely exposure levels are “thousands of times below guideline safety limits.”
But with schools across Britain shutting down their networks in fear, the Agency has decided to fill the gap in wireless health knowledge. “All the evidence is that the exposures are going to be very small,” one researcher told the Guardian. “But nevertheless there haven't been enough measurements made… and it'll be reassuring to know that's the case.” (More wireless stories.)
