Isles Edge Rival Rangers

Bryan Berard’s first goal in his second time around debut with the Islanders turned into the difference maker as the Islanders dropped their bitter local rivals before the home fans Wednesday at Nassau Coliseum. The visiting New York Rangers dropped to 1-2 after failing to convert on power plays and finding the net just once on opposing goalie Rick DiPietro.

Rangers captain Jaromir Jagr said his of his team's chemistry, 'it’s not there yet," according to the New York Times. The Islanders moved to 3-1 on the season and a 4-point first place lead in the Atlantic division. Marc-Andre Bergeron of the Islanders participated in both of his teams scores, scoring one and assisting on the other.
