Ben Stiller stumbled with The Heartbreak Kid this weekend, a weak opening compared to his recent efforts. A mere $14 million return held it at 2nd behind a still-strong The Game Plan, which raked in $16.3 million in a moderate 29% drop. The Rock's vehicle has earned $42.8 million so far and looks ready to extend its streak on tomorrow's Columbus Day holiday.

Other newbies put up little fight, as The Seeker: Dark is Rising made $3.7 million and J.Lo-produced Feel the Noise whimpered at $3.4 million. Only specialty flicks stood out, Michael Clayton wowing with $704,000 on 15 screens and Into the Wild nabbing $1.3 million on 33. Fox Searchlight's The Darjeeling Limited and Ang Lee's Lust, Caution also played strong in limited release. (More Ben Stiller stories.)
