A Tea Party-backed candidate who calls the government "a predator" and denounces public spending as a "Marxist utopia" appears to have made a special exception for himself, hauling in almost $300,000 in federal farming subsidies. Washington Senate candidate Clint Didier was endorsed by Sarah Palin yesterday, notes the Huffington Post.
Didier is a farmer and a former Washington Redskins player. In a tweet yesterday, Palin called him a "patriot running for US Senate to serve his state and our country for all the right reasons!" Didier hopes to win the GOP primary to go on to challenge Dem incumbent Patty Murray in November. Palin's endorsement of him has thrown a wrench into the gears of GOP establishment efforts to recruit a different Republican, Gino Rossi, to take on Murray.
