A Yale doctor was shot and killed in front of his pregnant wife yesterday by a former colleague who blamed him for the loss of his job, police say. Lishan Wang was arrested near the scene and charged with murder after Vajinder Toor was gunned down in front of his Connecticut home, the Wall Street Journal says. Police say the suspect also shot at Toor's wife but missed.
Wang filed a lawsuit last year alleging that he and other Chinese nationals had been discriminated against by staff, including Dr. Toor, at New York's Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. Wang "was unfairly labeled as 'excitable,' 'emotional' and unable to 'control his anger,'" the suit states, alleging that Indian nationals received preferential treatment from the center's staff.
