Toyota has yet another problem on its hands; the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching its own investigation into complaints of brake failures in the 2010 Prius. Toyota has already admitted there’s a “design flaw” in the model, and made changes to the braking system last month, but it hasn’t yet decided what to do on already produced vehicles, the Detroit News reports.
The NHTSA has received 124 complaints from consumers, with four reporting crashes. Another 77 complaints have been logged in Japan. Toyota hasn’t ruled out recalling the model. These woes, mind you, are separate from the 2.3 million vehicles Toyota recalled recently over sticky gas pedal worries, or the 5.4 million it recalled before that over similar concerns.
