2009 will always be the year we first met Octomom, Jon and Kate’s divorce played out in the tabloids, and David Hasselhoff ruined Thanksgiving. And those aren’t the only bad parents of the year—the New York Daily News remembers the worst:
- Richard and Mayumi Heene: Convinced the world son Falcon was trapped in a runaway balloon—and then made him and his siblings lie about it.
- Courtney Love: Ranted about daughter Frances Bean Cobain on Facebook after losing custody.
- David Hasselhoff: (Allegedly) got too drunk, leading his daughter to call 911 the day after Thanksgiving to say, “He's standing up, but he keeps falling back down. It's kind of scaring me.”
- Sarah Palin: Levi Johnston told Vanity Fair that Palin wasn’t too PC when it came to discussing son Trig, who has Down syndrome: “Sarah would call Trig 'my little Down's baby. She would come over and sometimes say, playing around, 'No, I don't want the retarded baby—I want the other one,' and pick up Tripp.”
