(AP Photo/America's Most Wanted via Kenneth Allen and Associates) A fugitive American doctor accused of widespread fraud and malpractice was found and arrested this week on a snowy mountain in Italy after 5 years on the run. Mark Weinberg, an Indiana ear, nose, and throat specialist, was living in a tent in Val Ferret. When police cornered him, Weinberg stabbed himself in the neck. He’s currently in the hospital, authorities tell the Telegraph. Police say they believe Weinberg was planning to enter Switzerland. He’d previously rented an apartment in a nearby town, then left without paying his rent. A US grand jury indicted the "Nose Doctor" in 2006 on 22 counts of fraud. More than 100 patients have sued, saying he promised modern, pricey procedures but instead performed quick, outdated ones. He had been featured on America’s Most Wanted as recently as August.
