Hillary Clinton may not be president, but she's more popular for it: the secretary of state enjoys much higher approval ratings than her boss and former rival. A poll of self-described "news watchers" gave Clinton a 75% approval rating, with 21% disapproval, while Obama's numbers were 51%-45%.
Clinton's ratings are driven by her relatively strong numbers from Republicans, 57% of whom approved of her, versus 19% for Obama. The two were closer among Democrats, with Clinton at 96% approval and Obama 93%. The president of the nonpartisan Clarus Research Group tells Politico that the numbers bode well for Clinton if she chooses to run again.
