EA Can't Stick With Tiger Forever
Tiger is a big name in video golf, for now.   (Electronic Arts)

Electronic Arts just may be the corporate sponsor most shaken up by the Tiger Woods scandal. It's put out no fewer than 12 titles under his name in the past decade, making it one of the top-selling sports games out there, writes Dean Takahashi at Venture Beat. The company says it is sticking by Woods. "But if the games bearing Woods’ name fail to sell, you can bet that EA will find a new cover athlete," writes Takahashi.

Mike Ozanian at Forbes goes further. "Sponsors like Gillette and Electronic Arts are going to drop Tiger Woods regardless of what they are saying now." And don't expect any golfer to replace him as a sales generator. "According to E Poll Market Research, aside from Tiger, they generate no buzz with consumers."
