A logger and a community college dropout have outlasted 6,492 other competitors and will go head-to-head in Monday's final of the World Series of Poker. Joe Cada, 21, flirted with elimination in the round that ended today in Las Vegas but holds 136 million chips and a substantial lead over freelance lumberjack Darvin Moon, 46, who has 59 million. "I got really lucky today," Cada told USA Today. "I'm very fortunate."

Unlike most of his competitors, Moon doesn't wear a cap advertising an online poker company, saying, "If I would sign with them guys we'd be in a lawsuit within a month because they'd want me to do something and I wouldn't do it." Instead, he sticks with the fleur-de-lis that represents his favorite NFL team, the New Orleans Saints. If you believe in omens, the Saints won today to go 8-0 for the first time ever.
