The White House and Fox News appear to have called a “truce” in their war of words after a meeting today between Obama press secretary Robert Gibbs and Fox exec Michael Clemente. Clemente then returned to the channel’s DC bureau and asked staff to remain “fair and balanced,” Mediabistro notes.
An Obama aide tells US News & World Report that the administration is generally pleased with how the confrontation played out, aside from the ratings boost Fox News received. But “they’re still at it,” the aide says, adding that the White House will silence its guns until the barrage starts anew.
