A major New York City transportation hub may have been the target of the suspected terror plot uncovered earlier this week in Queens, CNN reports. Sources close to the investigation say signs point to a potential attack on a large number of people in an area where security is minimal—like at a train or subway station.
The source says an unprecedented level of resources is being assigned to the probe: A hostage rescue team will be placed in New York, and additional resources also will go to Denver, where suspect Najibullah Zazi lives. An official said bomb instructions, computers, and maps were found during Monday's raids in Queens, as were backpacks, which they say could signal a planned attack similar to Madrid's 2004 train bombings. But Zazi's lawyer says that's not true: "Do you really think the FBI would have allowed us to walk out of here last night" if it were?
