Journalists Euna Lee and Laura Ling did in fact cross into North Korea while reporting from the border, Ling's sister tells CNN. "She did say that they touched North Korean territory very, very briefly," she says. "She said it was maybe 30 seconds. And then, you know, everything just sort of got chaotic." Lisa Ling says her sister plans to share her "very powerful story" soon.
The women, who had been reporting a story on human trafficking, are slowly recovering from their ordeal after being reunited with their families this week, Lisa says. Her sister has been "incredibly emotional," and fears being alone, and Lee' s 4-year-old daughter "has not wanted her mother to leave her sight. She just keeps following her around from room to room because she doesn't want her mom to leave." (More Euna Lee stories.)
