Sarah Palin's attorney has ripped charges by a Huffington Post blogger that she plagiarized phrases from a Newt Gingrich article. Palin "repeatedly lifted" Gingrich's wording when she introduced Ronald Reagan's son in Anchorage last week, wrote Geoffrey Dunn, who's writing a book on Palin. But Palin's lawyer said she properly attributed her remarks. Palin referred to Gingrich only twice during the speech, and began by saying that he wrote a "good article about Reagan," both Dunn and AP report.
"Far from 'lifting' or plagiary, this is proper attribution in a political speech," her lawyer says. "It is abundantly clear in context, and even in subcontext, that the overview of President Reagan's legacy was attributed to Newt Gingrich." (More Sarah Palin stories.)
