Rihanna Suffered 'Split Lip, Bites' in Brown Fight

Rihanna suffered facial bruises, a bloody nose, split lip and bite marks on her arm and hand in her explosive confrontation with boyfriend Chris Brown, TMZ is reporting. One source called the injuries "horrific." Brown has been charged with assault following his arrest after the fight Saturday on a Los Angeles street. Rihanna is cooperating with police in the continuing investigation, friends told TMZ.

Brown, 19, has a history of witnessing domestic abuse. He has spoken of how "terrififying" it was to watch his stepfather beat his mother when he was growing up. Rihanna and Brown canceled a scheduled Grammy appearance after the fight. Rihanna, 20, has now backed out of a sold-out Malayisan concert, and Brown has canceled an upcoming appearance with the NBA All-Stars, according to E! Online.
