Not only did Sarah Palin cost John McCain the presidency, some say, she robbed Manny Legace his job. The St. Louis Blues put the goalie on waivers after a string of injuries that started last October, when Legace slipped on a red carpet rolled out on the ice for Palin, Deadspin reports. “This is unbelievable,” Legace said.

The ensuing hip injury caused Legace, who had a $2.5 million contract, to miss five games. No team claimed Legace, so he’s headed to the minors with the Peoria Rivermen, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. “I’ll go to Peoria and help them try and win a Cup,” Legace said. “I just want to get my game back going.”
