You might want to think twice about getting on a bus or even a plane in Peru because the nation's highest court has ruled that workers can't be fired for being drunk on the job, reports Reuters. In a decision criticized by government officials, a janitor fired for drunkenness was ordered reinstated.
The court ruled the worker had not hurt anyone with his excessive drinking. "We've fired four workers for showing up drunk, and two of them were drivers," said the administrative chief of a Lima suburb. "How can we allow a drunk to work who might run somebody over?"
