Home Alone actor Daniel Stern is facing a misdemeanor citation in Southern California linked to an alleged attempt to pay for sex. Authorities in Ventura County say Stern was cited on Dec. 10 in Camarillo, California, for allegedly soliciting prostitution, according to police records obtained by TMZ. The incident reportedly took place at a hotel in the city, located about an hour northwest of Los Angeles.
Stern, best known for playing burglar Marv in the Home Alone films, wasn't arrested, per the New York Post. Officers issued him a ticket at the scene and didn't take a booking photo, police tell TMZ. The 68-year-old actor has drawn emergency services attention in the area before: In October, local fire officials responded to a medical call at a residence in Somis and rushed him to a hospital, TMZ previously reported.
Per an observation by Parade, the incident happened during peak holiday season, when Home Alone tends to get a lot of views. The outlet also notes that Stern has stayed out of the spotlight in recent years. "I don't leave my farm," he told People last month. The actor could face up to six months behind bars or a $1,000 fine if convicted. Representatives for Stern didn't respond to a request for comment.
