Truculent Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has ordered troops to be prepared for a US invasion, the Guardian reports. America is intent on toppling his government in any way it can, Chavez warned in a speech to soldiers. "It's not just armed warfare; I'm also referring to psychological warfare, political warfare, economic warfare," he said.
Chavez, who once called President Bush the devil in a UN speech, recently spent $3 billion on Russian arms and is negotiating for a missile system. "If somebody comes here, well then, sshh," he said, imitating the sound of a missile. US officials have said there are no plans to attack the oil-rich nation. (More Hugo Chavez stories.)
