If one Amazon Prime Day in 2022 wasn't enough for you, you're in luck: On the heels of its annual summer sale exclusively for Prime members, Amazon is hosting another one next month. The 48-hour preholiday event, called the "Prime Early Access Sale," will take place Oct. 11-12, just three months after its usual Prime Day, making it the first time there've been two Prime Days in the same calendar year since the event kicked off in 2015, reports CNET. The sale will be held around the globe, including in the US, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, and China.
Prime VP Jamil Ghani tells CNBC there will be "hundreds of thousands" of deals way in advance of Black Friday, the traditional kickoff for the holiday shopping season. Those sales will come across a broad swath of categories, from electronics and toys to home, pet, kitchen, and fashion products, as well as Amazon's proprietary devices. The outlet notes that Amazon has been facing lagging online sales amid high inflation, interest rates on the rise, and a possible recession looming. USA Today notes that anyone who's not already a Prime member can sign up for a free trial before taking the full plunge on the $139-per-year (or $14.99 a month) membership, and it offers some ways to save on those prices.
