A talk show host suggested Joe Biden isn’t the real president—but he wasn’t referring to the “Big Lie.” Charlamagne Tha God had a heated exchange with veep Kamala Harris on his weekly show Tha God’s Honest Truth Friday night, earning an admonishment from her. “Don’t start talking like a Republican,” she said. Charlamagne, whose real name is Lenard McKelvey, had asserted that Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) is the one who’s really running the country by blocking Biden’s agenda, and that he’s “ruining the country.” Harris didn’t criticize Manchin, but acknowledged that “watching a bill get made is … frustrating,” People reports. “I think it's a mistake to try and think about this only through the lens of Democrats versus Democrats, when the fact is Republicans are consistently and unanimously standing in the way of progress," Harris said.
The Comedy Central host also criticized the way Harris is perceived, saying she gets “crucified for every little thing in the media.” But Harris shrugged off the comment by saying her position as the first Black and South Asian American person to be elected vice president is bound to spark discussion. “I will not be distracted,” she said. Instead of slamming her critics or calling out Manchin, she pointed to the administration's plans and accomplishment, bringing up the popular child tax credit and plans to replace all lead pipes in the US.
