Three people have been charged in the death of a northern California toddler killed as his mother drove home with him last year. Police say Jasper Wu was the victim of a rolling gun battle between rival gangs on the highway and was fatally caught in the crossfire, the AP reports. Trevor Green, Ivory Bivins, and Johnny Jackson were charged with murder Thursday. Another suspect, Keison Lee, was killed in an unrelated shooting last month. Police say they are members of the Chopper City and Eddy Rock gangs and that a shot fired from the vehicle carrying Green and Bivins missed the other vehicle, which was carrying Jackson and Lee, and instead hit the Wu family's car, killing the little boy.

As his mother drove him home on an Oakland, Calif., highway on Saturday afternoon, toddler Jasper Wu was shot dead as he slept in his carseat. The 23-month-old is believed to have been caught in crossfire and hit by a stray bullet on I-880, Fox News reports. His aunt says the little boy tried opening his eyes after he was shot in the head.
