The classic Genesis line-up—Phil Collins, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford—is reuniting for the first time in 13 years, the iconic British band announced Wednesday. They plan to perform a series of shows across the UK this year, CNN reports. Collins' son Nicholas, 18, will join the band to play drums. (The teen has been doing that for his father's performances since he was in 11th grade.) Not taking part in the reunion: founding Genesis member and original lead singer Peter Gabriel, who left the group in 1975, and guitarist Steve Hackett, who left two years later. The band's last reunion, in 2007, was meant to be its farewell tour.
In fact, it was during that tour that Collins suffered nerve damage that has hindered his ability to play the drums in recent years. But in announcing the upcoming tour to the BBC, the Daily Express quotes Collins as reportedly saying, "I'm going to be doing my best to play some bits on the tour. So I've got to start really seriously thinking, but I have been working at what I've got to do and what songs to play on." He also said, however, that songs "based more on my drumming" would likely not appear on the set list. (More Genesis stories.)
