Prince Andrew's interview with the BBC airs Saturday night in the UK, and snippets are dribbling out. The 59-year-old royal sits down with BBC Newsnight's Emily Maitlis, who interrogates him about his links to the late Jeffrey Epstein, including on claims by accuser Virginia Giuffre that she was forced to have sex with the prince three times, starting when she was just 17. "I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever," the prince says in a clip shared by the Guardian. Maitlis presses: "You don't remember meeting her?" "No," Andrew replies. The prince also concedes he shouldn't have stayed with Epstein in 2010, after the disgraced financier had already been convicted for soliciting a minor for prostitution.

"I kick myself for [that] on a daily basis because it was not something that was becoming of a member of the royal family," he tells Maitlis. "We try and uphold the highest standards and practices and I let the side down, simple as that." He adds Epstein's mansion was simply "a convenient place to stay" and that "it was definitely the wrong thing to do," though at the time he felt it was the "honorable and right thing to do." "I admit fully that my judgment was probably colored by my tendency to be too honorable, but that's just the way it is," he notes. In August, Giuffre said she hoped the prince would one day acknowledge his involvement with her, telling reporters, "He knows exactly what he's done and I hope he comes clean about it."
