Helen Hunt was smack in the middle of a nasty car accident this week in Los Angeles, though the Mad About You and Twister actress is said to be relatively OK. An LAPD spokesperson tells People that the accident took place in LA's Mid-City neighborhood, and TMZ has obtained video of the crash. The outlet reports that Hunt was the backseat passenger in a black SUV that had almost finished clearing an intersection when another vehicle slammed into it, flipping Hunt's SUV onto its side.
The police rep says several people, including Hunt, were taken to a local hospital; she was released a few hours later after getting a medical once-over. Hunt's rep tells TMZ she was a bit shaken but wasn't seriously hurt. Police say there's no criminality involved in the crash. If seeing Hunt's name in the headlines has made you nostalgic for Mad About You, though, People does have some good news: The 56-year-old actress is now shooting a reboot of the series with co-star Paul Reiser, with 12 episodes scheduled to drop by the end of the year.
