Hunter Biden said Sunday that he won't do any work for foreign companies if his father is elected president. In the meantime, he's quitting the board of a company backed by the Chinese government, Bloomberg reports. "He never anticipated the barrage of false charges against both him and his father by the president of the United States," Hunter Biden's lawyer said in a statement posted on Medium. President Trump and Rudy Giuliani, his lawyer, have said without evidence that Hunter Biden made millions of dollars from China while Joe Biden was vice president, and that China should investigate.
Hunter Biden was on the board of Ukraine’s largest private gas company, whose owner was suspected of abuses, for almost five years. Hunter Biden was not accused of any wrongdoing by Ukraine, per the Washington Post. His lawyer's statement Sunday said Hunter Biden didn't involve his father in his business activities abroad; he "did not believe it appropriate to discuss them with his father, nor did he." That practice will continue, the statement said. (More Hunter Biden stories.)
