Megyn Kelly hasn't landed a new gig playing herself in a film about Roger Ailes' downfall at Fox News—but viewers of the new trailer for Bombshell could be forgiven for thinking otherwise. Charlize Theron plays the former Fox anchor in the clip, which features a tense elevator ride with characters played by Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie. Fans say Theron's resemblance to Kelly and perfect mimicking of her facial expressions are uncanny, USA Today reports. "Charlize looks more like Megyn Kelly than Megyn Kelly does," tweeted one viewer. The movie, originally titled Fair and Balanced, looks at the sexual harassment allegations that brought down the former Fox CEO, People reports.
Ailes, who died in 2017, was accused of sexual harassment by Fox employees including Kelly and Gretchen Carlson, who is played by Kidman. Robbie plays a fictional producer, while Ailes is played by John Lithgow and Rupert Murdoch is played by Malcolm McDowell. Theron recently said playing Kelly gave her a new understanding of the anchor, who left Fox in early 2017 and parted ways with NBC early this year, the Guardian reports. "I didn't know how complicated her situation was and I think for a lot of people, they didn’t understand why she didn’t just speak up," Theron said. "She was in a complicated place and as a human being, I have empathy for that. I don't think a lot of people truly understood that." (More Megyn Kelly stories.)
