A Neo-Nazi blogger who told his followers to unleash an "old fashioned Troll Storm" on a Jewish real estate agent in Montana has been ordered to pay her $14 million. US Magistrate judge Jeremiah Lynch, who condemned the "particularly egregious and reprehensible nature" of Daily Stormer founder Andrew Anglin's conduct, also ordered him to remove all references to Tanya Gersh from the website, the New York Daily News reports. The court heard that after Anglin accused Gersh of trying to force the mother of white nationalist Richard Spencer to sell a building in Whitefish in 2016, he published her contact information and told followers to harass her. "If you're in the area, maybe you should stop by and tell her in person what you think of her action," he wrote in one of dozens of posts about Gersh.
Gersh says she, her husband, and their 12-year-son received a flood of racist and threatening message that still hasn't completely ceased. The ruling includes the state maximum of $10 million for punitive damages. Anglin refused to participate in court proceedings and his whereabouts are unclear, but lawyers say they will do their best to make him pay. "We are committed to doing whatever we can to collect whatever Andrew Anglin has that is subject to collection here in the United States, whether that's cash, assets, or intellectual property," Southern Poverty Law Center attorney David Dinelli tells the Missoulian. "The bigger message is that Tanya Gersh, a real estate agent in small-town Montana, was able to take on the web's most notorious neo-Nazi and win." (More Daily Stormer stories.)
