Arby's is once again trolling vegans and vegetarians, this time with "Marrots." What exactly are Marrots? Carrots made of meat, obviously. Marrots, and other "Megetables" that are planned to follow, are the fast food chain's official response to the increasing popularity of plant-based proteins like Burger King's rollout of the Impossible Burger. Arby's slogan is "We Have the Meats"; if you can make "meat" from vegetables, why not make "vegetables" from meat? "While others are following the latest trend and exploring plant-based meat alternatives, [Arby's] is staying true to itself by continuing to serve what it does best: 100% real meats, says a company press release. It boasts of "creating an entirely new food category: 'Meat Vegetables,' or 'Megetables.'"

The Marrot is a turkey breast cut into the shape of a carrot, rolled in a carrot marinade and maple syrup powder before being cooked and topped with parsley. It contains more than 30 grams of protein and more than 70% of the recommended daily amount of Vitamin A, per People. No, you can't actually order it at Arby's (for now, at least), but you can see how it was made in this video. Although at least one commenter on Twitter called the idea "disgusting," and an Impossible Foods exec referred to the stunt as "schlocky and tone deaf." (More Arby's stories.)
