The University of Virginia will play Texas Tech in Monday's NCAA title game thanks to a crazy finish in Virginia's game against Auburn. (See the video.) With his team trailing 62-60, Virginia's Kyle Guy put up a last-second 3-point shot. He missed, but a foul was called on the play, and Guy then calmly sank all three free throws with 0.6 seconds left for the 63-62 win. And that came after Virginia blew a 10-point lead in the final five minutes. At USA Today, Dan Wolken writes that it was "one of the most remarkable foul calls you’ll ever see given the stakes and the circumstances." But, he adds, "it was the right call."

Adding to the controversy: The refs may have missed a double-dribble that would have cost Virginia the game, and the AP has details on that. The other semifinal had less drama as Texas Tech beat Michigan State 61-51 after being up by 2 at the half. The win means No. 3 seed TTU will face No. 1 seed Virginia in the championship game. The game could be a defensive battle: ESPN credits TTU's stifling defense for Saturday night's win, while Virginia is considered to be among the top defensive teams in the nation, if not the top defensive team.
