Legroom was not an issue here. A Lithuanian man had the weird experience of flying to Italy on a huge passenger jet—as the only passenger. By the AP's count, the Boeing 737-800—a different model than the 737s of recent controversy—had all of eight people aboard: two pilots, five crew members, and passenger Skirmantas Strimaitis. The jet can hold 188 passengers. It was "a once-in-the-lifetime experience," Strimaitis says of his flight from Vilnius to Bergamo, Italy. A travel agency had chartered the flight because it needed to bring a group of Lithuanians vacationing in Italy back home. It also sold one-way tickets for the flight to Italy, and Strimaitis was the only taker. (More air travel stories.)
