There's yet more fallout from the snubs and slights arising from John McCain's funeral last August. In February, Meghan McCain, the senator's daughter, said she wished Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner had not attended the funeral, per the Hill. Last month, President Trump complained that he didn't get a thank-you for approving the funeral arrangements—though the military flight carrying McCain's body to Washington was the only part that required his consent. Now Sarah Palin has said that not being invited to the funeral was "kind of a gut punch."
Palin, of course, was McCain's running mate in the 2008 presidential election. "I was kind of surprised to be publicly disinvited to the funeral," she said in a British TV interview Monday, Mediaite reports. Before his death, McCain had said he regretting selecting Palin as his VP choice. Of the funeral snub, Palin said the McCain family "didn’t have to embarrass me." (More Sarah Palin stories.)
