As expected, the Senate voted 59-41 Thursday to block President Trump's declaration of an emergency at the US-Mexico border. All the Democratic senators, plus 12 Republicans, voted in favor of the resolution rebuking Trump's move to get funding for his border wall, the Hill reports. The House passed the measure last month; Trump has promised to veto it when it gets to his desk. It will be his first presidential veto, and neither chamber has the votes necessary to override it. "A vote for today’s resolution by Republican Senators is a vote for Nancy Pelosi, Crime, and the Open Border Democrats!" Trump said in a series of tweets before the vote. After the vote, he tweeted simply, "VETO!" (More border wall stories.)
