A new Hollywood scandal is in the news, thanks to text messages revealed by the Hollywood Reporter. The upshot: Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara, 54, is accused of trying to improperly arrange roles for British actress Charlotte Kirk, with whom he was reportedly having a sexual relationship. A sample of exchanges:
- Kirk: “You’re very busy I know but when we were in that motel having sex u said u would help me and when u just ignore me like you’re doing now it makes me feel used," she wrote in 2015. "Are u going to help me like u said u would?”
- Tsujihara: “Sorry you feel that way. Richard will be reaching out to u tonight," he responded, referring to another studio exec.
- Tsujihara: “I don’t usually call about casting about these types of roles," he wrote to her in 2015 during another discussion of a TV role she had read for. "It’s fine, I just need to be careful.”
- Kirk: "Of course I understand. I know how we can be carful (sic) and make this work." When Tsujihara suggested finding a movie role instead, she said that would be "perfect."
Parent company WarnerMedia is looking into the allegations, reports
CNN, while both Tsujihara and Kirk deny any impropriety. Kirk has appeared in two Warner Bros. movies,
How to Be Single (2016) and
Ocean's 8 (2018). THR says Australian billionaire James Packer first brought the two together, calling it the "opportunity of a lifetime for u" in a text to the then-21-year-old actress in 2013. She then met Tsujihara in a hotel and told Packer afterward that Tsujihara was "not very nice!" and interested only in having sex with her. Read the
