Feds Charge El Chapo's Sons

The feds got El Chapo. Now they want two of his sons. The Justice Department on Thursday announced drug conspiracy charges against the younger sons of Joaquin Guzmán, who are accused of working to send cocaine, marijuana, and methamphetamine across the US border from Mexico, where both are believed to reside, per CNN. An indictment describes the efforts of Joaquin Guzmán Lopez, 34, and Ovidio Guzmán Lopez, 28, as continuing over a decade beginning in April 2008. It "smacks of a concerted attempt by the government to paint the entire family as being involved in criminal activity when the only evidence they have of it is based on cooperator testimony," one of El Chapo's lawyers says, per the New York Times.
