First There'd Be a Bomb. Next They'd Go After the PM

British authorities say they've foiled a plot to assassinate British Prime Minister Theresa May that would have started with a bomb at the gates to Downing Street, the New York Daily News reports. The two suspects would have attempted to kill May in the chaos surrounding the explosion at her official London residence, authorities say. A 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both alleged Islamist radicals, were arrested last week after a Scotland Yard and MI5 investigation and will appear in court Wednesday in connection with the plot, the Guardian reports. There have been at least five terrorist attacks or attempted attacks in Britain so far this year, Sky News reports. Authorities say at least nine more were foiled. (More Theresa May stories.)
