It's not every day you babysit your two young grandkids and end up $522,822 richer, but that's exactly what happened to a New York man, UPI reports. Palmer Scumaci, 67, of Ronkonkoma, says he and his wife were looking after their 2-year-old and 4-month-old grandkids and were, well, beat. So he offered to make a run for coffee to put some pep back in his wife's step; while at the One Stop Deli, he also bought a CashX20 scratch-off ticket.

Wife Nancy says he returned to the home screaming about an upcoming trip to Disney World: He had won the $1 million jackpot, which the New York Lottery explains netted him the aforementioned six figures. A trip to Disney will happen, says Scumaci, but not much more, per Nancy. "No fancy cars. I'll still clip coupons. We're just that kind of people." (More lottery stories.)
