Sometimes you have good days and sometimes days in which you go to sell your vacation home and accidentally retire yourself from acting. The latter is the current state of affairs for James Woods, lately involved in a tiff with Amber Tamblyn, who was just trying to sell his lake house in Rhode Island for $1.39 million, reports the Washington Post. Toward that end, his agent—real estate agent, not his acting agent—came up with a press release titled "James Woods to sell home in Exeter," which mentioned "that his recent retirement from the entertainment field has prompted him to simplify his life" and that he "hopes to spend more time on passions including photography, antiquing and Texas hold ’em poker."
Says Woods of his agent reading him the draft: "I was not paying attention. I somehow didn’t hear 'retirement.'" Some media outlets bought the story, and Woods tells the Post he was tempted to let it stand because "who would care if I were?" In truth, both the actor and the lake house are available.
