While some metropolitan areas are stagnating and trying to figure out their next move to stay competitive, others are in the fast lane—and the Lone Star State can claim four of the top 10 on WalletHub's list of the fastest-growing cities in America. The rankings took into account the "sociodemographics" (including population growth) and metrics of local jobs and the economy (such as unemployment rate decreases, job growth, and the rise in median home price) for 515 small, midsize, and large US cities. No. 1 on the list: Frisco, Texas, with the other nine as follows:
- Frisco, Texas
- Kent, Wash.
- Lehigh Acres, Fla.
- Meridian, Idaho
- Midland, Texas
- McKinney, Texas
- Fort Myers, Fla.
- Bend, Ore.
- Austin, Texas
- Pleasanton, Calif.
