America's 7 Most Endangered Rivers

"If we don't protect and restore our rivers, we won't have reliable clean drinking water supplies," says a rep for American Rivers, a conservation group out with its annual list of the most endangered rivers in the US. Each river included on the list has regional or national significance and is under threat from issues such as water scarcity and climate change, reports National Geographic. The seven most endangered:

1. Lower Colorado River, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada: water demand, climate change
2. Bear River, California: new dam
3. South Fork Skykomish, Washington state: new hydropower project
4. Mobile Bay Rivers in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi: poor water management
5. Rappahannock River, Virginia: fracking
6. Green-Toutle River, Washington state: new mine
7. Neuse and Cape Fear Rivers, North Carolina: pollution
