A second man has been arrested in the suspected murder of Tara Grinstead, more than 11 years after she went missing. Ryan Duke, 33, was arrested last week; now, 32-year-old Bo Dukes has been arrested and accused of helping Duke hide Grinstead's body after Duke allegedly murdered her, People reports. The two suspects, who are not related despite their similar names, both attended Irwin County High School in Georgia, where Grinstead taught history. They were friends, a classmate says, and "weren't the most popular kids, but they weren't unpopular, either." Duke graduated three years before Grinstead went missing in 2005.
Authorities say that, during a burglary, Duke killed Grinstead with his bare hands in her home, and Dukes helped him hide the body at a pecan farm nearby. Dukes' uncle owns the pecan farm, 11Alive reports. Her body has not been found. Duke, who another Irwin County High School teacher recalled to WMAZ as "sweet, clean-cut, [and] smart," has been charged with murder, burglary, aggravated assault, and concealment of a body, while Dukes has been charged with concealing a death, evidence tampering, and hindering the apprehension of a criminal.
