He lost his bid to be president and, possibly, his chance for a top role in the Trump administration. So what's next for Chris Christie? A report from the Bergen Record suggests that sports talk radio looks like a real possibility. The idea is that he'd replace the outgoing Mike Francesa at powerhouse WFAN 660 out of New York City. Francesa leaves at the end of this year, about the time Christie's term as New Jersey governor is up. Christie has been a guest co-host on the station several times in the last year, and he's made no secret he'd love that kind of work. WFAN sounds interested, too.
"I would certainly at least want to consider him," says station VP Mike Chernoff. "If he's interested and we're interested, it's worth pursuing." The New York Post also reports that WFAN has Christie in its sights. The 54-year-old is a diehard Mets fan, and the newspaper notes that he made waves on the station just last week when he called Philadelphia Phillies fans “angry, awful people” whose stadium is "not safe for civilized people.” If it happens, NJ.com has a prediction based on early online reaction: lots of hangup calls about Bridgegate. (Christie's lieutenant governor, who's running for his job, got an unusual resignation.)
