Amid their custody mess, Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are attending therapy with 6-year-old son Julian, sources tell E!, Us, and People. A Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services investigation is ongoing after Julian told both his mother and his school that his father spanks him painfully and excessively, charges Thicke has denied. Things heated up further when Thicke said Patton was refusing to send Julian for the overnight visits granted to Thicke as part of the couple's custody order and Julian told sheriff's deputies he was too scared to go with his father. Following that incident, the trio went to a therapy session over the weekend, sources say. Prior to that, Thicke said he had not seen Julian since New Year's Eve.
"They were supposed to work out something on Friday night after the incident [with the sheriff's deputies] for Julian to see Robin," one source tells Us. "They were going to try to have a nanny and security guard bring Julian to a park to be with Robin for an hour, but Julian did not want to go." Instead, Julian stayed with Patton all weekend, but the family went to a therapist Saturday and will work with the therapist to come up with a plan for moving forward. As for the DCFS investigation, it's ongoing, but Thicke's lawyer tells People, "The Department of Children and Family Services has extensively interviewed the family, including Julian. They put no restrictions on Robin’s custody and advised Paula to follow the court orders." (More Robin Thicke stories.)
