Politics / Hillary Clinton Hillary Renews Call for State Re-Votes Obama camp accuses her of serving 'political self-interest' By Harry Kimball, Newser Staff Posted Apr 5, 2008 8:24 PM CDT Copied Democratic presidential hopeful, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., speaks at a rally in Hillsboro, Ore., Saturday, April 5, 2008. (AP Photo) Stumping in Oregon today, Hillary Clinton kept up her fight to recognize Florida and Michigan primary results, saying the votes had been “officially tallied,” the AP reports. “The question is whether those 2.3 million Democrats will be honored.” Meanwhile Barack Obama’s camp, which has offered to evenly split the disputed delegates, reminded reporters that Clinton once said the contests “didn’t count for anything.” Florida and Michigan saw record turnouts, even though Obama and Clinton stayed out of the states after the Democratic Party invalidated both primaries. Clinton was the clear winner in each, but her prospects appear to be dimming as Florida, and yesterday Michigan, decided not to hold do-over primaries. (More Hillary Clinton stories.) Report an error
