Mike Pence may not be able to defend Donald Trump's 2005 comments about women, but he won't be stepping down as Trump's running mate. Rumors of him dropping off the ticket are "absolutely false," the Indiana governor said Monday, per Politico. Pence insisted during an appearance on Fox & Friends that "the real story" is Trump winning Sunday night's debate. Trump "show[ed] his heart on Sunday night," Pence said, "expressing the fact that he was embarrassed, not proud of it. You know, that kind of vulnerability, and transparency, I think is very moving to millions of Americans." Pence said he knows for a fact that Trump is "deeply sorry" for what he said, and that Pence is "proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with him." (More Election 2016 stories.)
