A US Navy sailor who didn't realize she was pregnant gave birth aboard the Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier Sunday while it was in the Persian Gulf, where it's involved in the fight against ISIS, the Navy Times reports. The unnamed sailor went to the carrier's medical clinic with stomach pains Saturday, and nine hours later, she delivered a 7-pound baby girl.

Diapers, formula, and an incubator were flown out to the ship; mom and baby are both doing well, and were eventually airlifted by helicopter to a hospital in Bahrain. Had the sailor known she was pregnant, she would have left operational command at 20 weeks along. (More uplifting news stories.)
