Things are falling into place for Hillary Clinton: Her endorsement from President Obama Thursday was followed by that of Elizabeth Warren, the progressive senator who could be key to winning over Bernie Sanders supporters. "I'm ready. I am ready to get in this fight and work my heart out for Hillary Clinton to become the next president of the United States—and to make sure that Donald Trump never gets anyplace close to the White House," Warren said on the Rachel Maddow Show, per NBC News. Warren, one of Donald Trump's fiercest critics, was one of the last high-profile Democrats yet to endorse Clinton, and there is plenty of talk about her joining Clinton on the ticket. She told Maddow she's not being vetted, but she believes she's ready for a job that could potentially make her commander in chief, reports the Washington Post.
Sources tell Reuters that Warren is open to the idea of being Clinton's VP pick, but she's not entirely sure whether having two women on the ticket is the best way to beat Trump, and, since her positions on issues like Wall Street reform are to the left of Clinton's, she suspects her voice will be clearer in the Senate than as part of a Clinton administration. On Maddow, Warren praised Sanders, saying she shares his ideas and that she's grateful for him putting them in the spotlight. "I take my cue on every part of this from Bernie himself and what he said right at the beginning," she said.
